RARE, RARE RARE !! This is an incredible piece of Rolex History! Circa 1957….a second generation (the good one) Mens President Ref. # 6611B.
This watch is in excellent working condition and we and a major auction house in New York believe it to be original…but we can not totally prove that from 1957…that is why this unbelievable piece is offered here. It has the Rolex movement “B1055” and represents the first successful complication for Rolex with a day and date as well as Certified Chronograph accuracy. This was the first Rolex Movement with the Micro-stella Balance, the first hidden-clasp “ President” Bracelet as is on this watch and in beautiful cond. This model was presented to Dwight Eisenhower in 1957 and the nickname “President” began. The history of this watch goes on and on and can be studied in Hess and Dowlings book, The Best of Time.
This watch was originally offered in 1957 with a diamond dial and diamond bezel…both applied by a contractor to Rolex. This watch has been evaluated by a major New York Auction House. Additional Photos Available. Comes with Box. We do not believe this watch will last long.
